POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the chief staff executive for Quad City Area REALTORS®, a professional trade association representing REALTORS® operating in communities in both Iowa and Illinois. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Association’s operations, including strategic planning, financial oversight, staff leadership, member services, government affairs, and compliance with policies established by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).

The CEO plays a key role in shaping the direction of the Association by recommending and contributing to the development of its mission, vision, goals, and policies. Within this framework, the CEO plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees all programs, staff, and activities to ensure organizational objectives are achieved, strategic plans are executed, and member needs are effectively met.

As a strategic advisor to the Board, the CEO ensures the Association remains relevant, forward-thinking, and member-focused, while promoting the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the real estate industry.

The candidate must have a strong understanding of business finances and non-profit governance principles.  A minimum of 3 – 5 years of proven experience as an executive director or manager who has developed successful strategies and long-range plans.  Individual must have excellent people skills, an appreciation and understanding of political advocacy, be a strategic and tactical thinker, excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills, effective management and proven leadership, and active community involvement.  REALTOR® Association experience is preferred.
