The manager oversees flagship training initiatives for the Society’s clinical endocrine community. The manager will manage the Society’s Endocrine Self-Assessment Program (ESAP), Pediatric Self-Assessment Program (P-ESAP), Fellows Training Series, and the annual Type 1 Diabetes and Obesity Fellows programs. They will also serve as the primary staff liaison to the Clinical Endocrine Education Committee (CEEC) and related self-assessment authoring groups. This position will also be engaged in the set up and delivery of these products in the Society’s learning management system.
What you’ll bring to the job:
- BA/BS degree required.
- At least 3 years of prior experience in adult education, project management or equivalent experience in an association. Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional presence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to work with a diverse group of stakeholders (staff, committee members, learners, collaborators, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Significant interest in adult education and medical training.
- Be highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to prioritize team efforts to use limited resources efficiently.
- Capacity to recognize the contributions of all team members, both internal and external, in dealings with members and collaborators.
- Ability to travel and work weekends or after-hours, on occasion.
- Appropriate technical skills required for proficiency in the use of technology (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, database management, etc.) and able to learn new technology as required;
- Consensus-building and collaboration skills, including ability to seek out the facts and pertinent information before drawing conclusions and listening and responding to peoples with sensitivity and directness.

What you’ll own:
Oversee Endocrine Self-Assessment Program (ESAP) and Pediatric Self-Assessment Program (P-ESAP):
- In coordination with the medical editor, oversee the design, development, and delivery of ESAP and P-ESAP
- Coordinate peer review meetings, working collaboratively with the medical editor, chairs, and the meetings team
- Coordinate the permissions review and publication of the print and ebook versions with the Publications department
- With support from the Coordinator of Digital Learning, set up the online assessment in the learning management system and the Society’s ACCME PARS portal for CME accreditation.
Drives development and delivery of the Fellows Training Series and In-Training Exam (ITE):
- Identify potential challenges and concerns alongside the workgroup chair(s) and team to develop solutions to issues such as schedule adherence, workgroup member concerns, and quality of content.
- Manage and support faculty for content development including identifying experts, collaborating with member leaders to identify content area gaps and strategies to fill them, and providing educational design and digital learning strategy.
- Collaborate with Member Engagement staff and relevant committees and working groups as appropriate in the development of endocrine pipeline initiatives.
- Enter content into online platforms and maintain/update to ensure uniformity across them and strategize best ways to present educational content.
- Provide strong customer service on products and programs, including creating user-facing guides and implementing enhancements.
- Develop necessary required outcome reports and updates including sales trends, evaluation data, and question performance data.
- Develop content maintenance and improvement timelines to ensure flagship products remain up to date.
- Guide the development of publications in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including the creation of promotional pieces and communications plans.
- Manage grant proposals and reconciliations as requested.
- Collect and maintain documentation required by accrediting bodies.
Serves as staff lead for all funded fellows’ programs (e.g. Type 1 Diabetes Fellows Program and Obesity Fellows Program):
- Manage the Society’s core educational activities targeted to fellows. Specifically oversees the program development, promotion, budget management, speaker invitation and confirmation correspondence, and agenda content.
- Collaborate with Development and Funded Programs (DFP) to confirm program budget and design for proposals to potential supporters, as well as provide regular program update reports.
- Collaborate with program chair(s) and other stakeholders to finalize the topics, faculty, and design of the overall program.
- Invite and confirm faculty, collect and maintain faculty forms (agreements, w8/9) and work with faculty to ensure deliverables are received in a timely manner
- Manage the application and fellow communication for each program. Duties include coordinating with the marketing team to attract applicants, managing the application and review processes, correspondence with applicants and winners, and tracking winners’ acceptance and documents.
- Act as a “guide on the side” to the Coordinator, Digital Learning, as they handle the day-to-day logistics of confirming the accepted Fellow attendees and ensuring all documentation is received and on-site information is shared.
- Collaborate with the meetings team to ensure all on-site logistics are confirmed.
- Collect and maintain documentation required by accrediting bodies.
Serves as primary staff liaison to support the work of the Clinical Endocrine Education Committee (CEEC) by:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design workplans and identify opportunities for educational content development through facilitating and leading meetings and communications and implementing projects.
- Collaborate with committee chair and members to address concerns and complete project deliverables on time, including managing challenges as they arise.
- Plan and manage committee initiatives and task forces (i.e., In-Training Exam (ITE) Steering Group, Fellows Training Series (FTS) Steering Group, Endocrine Residency Working Group) and acting as staff resource for these groups.
- Support the creation and implementation of education-focused sessions and programs at the annual meeting, along with multiple project meetings and launches.
- Solicit committee member appointments, meeting participation, collect and maintain required faculty forms, and process honoraria and travel reimbursements.
Manages day-to-day activities for projects within the learning management system and maintains digital elements of projects including:
- Maintain program pages and update continuing activities year to year.
- Create new content (i.e., modules, courses, webforms) as needed to support content creation and project completion.
- Design and maintain courses and modules for FTS, Education Case Cards, and other products including ESAP-ITE.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members by listening, understanding, and responding to identified needs. Respond to member/leadership/community needs. Actively promote positive relationships with the membership and other groups (committees, leadership, stakeholders, etc.). Exhibit high level of customer service and identify ways to improve service procedures/levels within own position. Respond and follow-through on internal and external requests

This position is located in Washington, DC and walking distance to Metro and major bus lines. The Endocrine Society offers a flexible, hybrid work environment.
