As ASNT’s director of education you will be responsible for setting up our new education department. You will develop a plan which implements ASNT’s strategic objectives for professional development, hire staff, schedule and manage course development and implementation, hire contract trainers, set up training facilities, and do whatever it takes to succeed. You will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the department. In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and manage online, in-person, and hybrid training programs for nondestructive testing professionals, including technicians, engineers, managers, and administrators.
Develop a professional education strategy for ASNT, in collaboration with volunteers and staff.
Set up classroom operations in Columbus, OH and Houston, TX. Coordinate training operations with our India subsidiary company.
Create and implement a franchise program in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Collaborate with the Director of Certification and Accreditation to develop and implement ASNT’s Authorized Training Organization (ATO) and Certified NDT Trainer (CNT) accreditation programs, including a ‘train-the-trainer’ program.
Work closely with volunteer members and subject matter experts. Make presentations to the Board of Directors and committees.
Attend, represent, and make presentations at conferences, meetings, and events as assigned.
Maintain ASNT’s IACET accreditation.
Serve on the senior management team along with the directors of other departments.
You will have:
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree in education or human development, instructional design, or related field preferred.
Minimum of seven years progressive responsibility for management and administration of education and training programs, including curriculum development, for online, in-person, and hybrid delivery.
Related work experience in professional associations or technical societies preferred. CAE preferred.
Prior experience managing teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (including public speaking) skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Ability to travel internationally.
Proficiency with content management and learning management systems.
While the position may work remotely, it is a plus if you reside near our operating locations in Columbus, OH or Houston, TX.
