As the Membership and Chapter Services Program Manager, you will help NACE continue to build our vibrant community through chapter support and supporting membership activities.
In this position, you will provide comprehensive management of programs that build and deliver value to membership and provide leadership and operational support to NACE chapters. Membership activity will include the design, delivery and measurement of initiatives that recruit, retain, and deliver value to members including the NACE One Awards Program. Chapter service activity will include programs that help chapter leaders run and build their chapters through shared resources, and that help NACE advance cohesive brand standards and customer experiences.
You will manage the day-to-day customer service, email communications and additional tasks for NACE chapters and serve as the primary point of contact for chapter support with reporting, compliance, governance, membership, and other operational areas.
Areas of Responsibility:
Membership Recruitment and Retention
Oversee, execute and evaluate programs to build and deliver member value, including affinity programs
Help design and implement innovative new membership options
Plan and manage the member benefits, including webinars by recruiting speakers, rehearsing, and running the webinar
Partner with the Marketing team to develop and promote chapter resources for communicating membership benefits and aiding recruitment and retention
Prepare and collaborate with Marketing team to create and distribute the monthly NACE member e-newsletter
Manage and monitor member onboarding and retention communication efforts
Prepare and collaborate with Marketing team to create and distribute information about member benefits and special member announcements (i.e. awards, elections, governance updates, etc.)
Manage the membership database and ensure data integrity and quality
Identify improvements to membership experience and processes
Partner with the Marketing team to ensure that the NACE website and NACE Net app are up-to-date and easy to navigate
Manage, maintain, and foster participation in online communities
Oversee technology implementations and migrations for chapters as needed
Chapter Relations Management
Communicate proactively with chapter leaders regarding chapter reporting requirements and timelines (including annual tax reporting)
Manage the chapter reporting process
Staff Liaison to the Chapter Leaders Council
Manage the creation and distribution of the NACE Chapter Leader News
Maintain Chapter Leader Resources section of the NACE website
Create and curating tools and resources for chapter use
Chapter Leadership Conference (Evolve)
Assist in developing, maintaining, and producing schedules, agendas, handouts, speaker rosters and similar details
Ensure proper follow-up is completed i.e. surveys, packet content, documentation of leader comments and requests
Participate in the planning and execution of the conference
NACE One Awards Program
Work with the Awards Committee to create and manage the awards portfolio
Manage the NACE One Awards website, submission process and competition judging
Produce the program deliverables for the NACE One Awards Gala at Experience conference
Work with the Director of Program and Operations to create the program budget and collaborate on the Awards Gala event details and program
Collaborate with NACE staff to create additional year-round value for award nominees and winners, including publicity, articles, blog posts and education.
3 years of experience at a trade or professional association
Direct experience in membership or chapter/component relations
Professional and persuasive written and verbal communications skills
Strong work ethic with commitment to a team environment
Ability to read and understand financial reports, advanced MS Excel experience a plus
Exemplary customer service skills and outgoing personality to provide service for a creative, passionate membership base
Excellent problem-solving, time-management and organizational skills
Possess a proactive approach to process improvement, can adapt to change and operate effectively with incomplete or ambiguous information
10% travel may be required
