The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for an International Programs Coordinator. This exciting position is responsible for the development and implementation of AUA’s international educational activities.
This position is located in our headquarters office in Linthicum MD. Our office is near the BWI airport. We are required to be in the office on Tuesdays/Wednesdays, with remote working the other three days.
Travel to the Annual Meeting (6 days) and five (5) other meetings throughout the year.
Has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of AUA’s international educational activities including lessons courses, licensing activities, guest lectures, and new business development activities. Tasks will include working with subject matter experts to develop agendas, recruit speakers, and develop activity materials. Fosters communication with AUA leadership, speakers, and international urologic societies. Coordinates all projects in concert with the Senior Manager, International Programs and other AUA departments.
The individual in this position will:
Assists Senior Manager, International Program with administrative responsibilities associated with International Programs (IP) department.
Prepares program budgets, reconciles expenses; and oversees annual financial review of assigned activities.
Represents the AUA at various international urologic society meetings as needed.
Participates in leadership meetings as needed.
Supports any humanitarian efforts associated with the Global Philanthropic Committee, CURA, and/or Haiti/GASHU.
Coordinates assigned education programs.
Develops and implements assigned educational activities (in-person and virtual) including IP’s Lessons in Urology courses, licensing programs, Guest Lectures, and new business development activities.
Works with Assistant Secretaries in the development of content agendas and identification of speakers.
Recruits speakers and works with them in the preparation of the educational materials.
Builds programs in AUAUniversity for registration, distribution of content/materials, and CME claim credit process as needed.
As needed, ensures assigned educational activities are compliant with ACCME accreditation and Standards for Independence and Integrity requirements. Maintains CME files.
Provides detailed budgets to Senior Manager and assists with MOU management.
Coordinates IP activities at annual meeting.
Working with Convention & Meetings, serves as the primary contact for the Spanish Urology program (CAU) and Brazilian/Portuguese Urology program (BPUP - SBU) held at the AUA Annual Meeting to manage program development and coordination with the program directors and CAU and SBU leadership.

Candidates must be collaborative while working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented team environment. It is essential that the individual in this role have time management and attention to details competencies. In addition:
Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in professional education with a focus on international activities required;
Experience with medical education and ACCME or like accreditation preferred;
Familiarity with non-profits/medical associations a plus.
Knowledge and experience in budget preparation and daily operations required.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met.
Excellent organization and communication skills (fluency in foreign language preferred).
Ability to develop clear, concise reports from attendance at meetings.
Proficient level of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
