Position Overview
This position will help drive solutions and strategies to ensure the development and implementation of successful programs.
Functions
- Implements an educational strategy based on identified educational needs.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop course content.
- Manages the development of original content and ensures all content is on time and according to specifications and final review by engineering is completed within specified timelines.
- Understands priorities and maintains and grows relationships with SMEs.
- Provides instructional design support: develops project outlines, descriptions, and learning objectives.
- Monitors and ensures that education content is engaging. Reviews assessment reports recommending improvements to the program committee
- Maintains library of all live course materials for the organization.
- Analyzes existing instructional materials and recommends updates as necessary.
- Responsible for providing all course materials to subject matter experts, instructors, and registrants, including case studies, practice questions, and assessments.
- Partners with vendors as needed to create exceptional learning experiences.
- Collaborates with team members and leadership to advance educational opportunities for the organization.
- Collaborates, assists, develops and participates in facilitating conferences, seminars, webinars, and symposia.
- Primary contact for contract seminars and oversees the implementation of seminars.
- Provides recommendations for the continuous improvement of educational activities and identifies opportunities for growth in the US and various regions of the world.
- Onsite support for selected educational activities as necessary.
This position can either work from the Society’s headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD, or remotely (or hybrid).

Position Requirements
- Bachelors or advanced degree in project management, communication, or any education-related field.
- Working with technical content is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the latest technology in eLearning, Webinars, social media, etc.
- Proven ability to develop engaging and effective training curricula across many platforms and media.
- 3+ years of experience in content development.
- Understanding of varied learning styles.
- Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods.
- Experience providing instructional design across modalities (i.e., face-to-face, hybrid and online courses).
- Experience with a learning management system (LMS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail with excellent time-management skills.
- Strong project management skills to drive initiatives to completion and manage priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills and abilities.
- Familiar with website design, video technology, and editing.
