The Manager of Partnerships & Business Development is responsible for driving growth by supporting the generation of new business opportunities. You will join a Business Development team that is builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
RE+ Events is a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high work demands under a very tight timeline. Some travel will be required to attend outreach events, as well as the events RE+ Events organizes. This position will have opportunities to grow the organization and set the strategic vision for new projects and services. At RE+ Events, all hands are on deck to support and strategize together, both operational and strategic knowledge at all levels are utilized. The goal at RE+ Events is to provide a conducive environment that promotes teamwork.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
To be successful in this position, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily, in addition to other duties as assigned to meet business needs and organizational objectives.
- Monitors renewable energy and related industries for development of new market segments
- Identifies new opportunities and ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and online channels
- Performs market research and analysis
- Finds and proposes deals/agreements with potential partners that align with our strategic plan and growth strategy
- Supports fulfillment efforts of partner engagements
- Works closely with partner organizations, creating impeccable customer relationships
- Works closely with marketing and sales providing industry insights, talking points, prospects for existing and new market segments
- Provides accurate and timely reporting
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Strong knowledge of the renewable energy industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales, business development, or related field
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems based on research and analysis
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to take initiative on projects
- Ability to manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities
- Customer and client focus
- Willingness to learn
- Self-motivated who will take the initiative to seek out new business opportunities
- Committed to strong relationships with internal and external customers and partners
- Knowledge of information systems (i.e. Salesforce)
