The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), founded in 1921, is a professional organization serving almost 20,000 elementary and middle-level principals. As an organization, it operates through a network of affiliated associations in every state. Additionally, NAESP has members in Canada and many countries overseas. The Association believes that the progress and well-being of every child must be at the forefront of all elementary and middle school planning and operations. Further, NAESP members accept the challenge inherent in research findings that the development of quality education in each elementary and middle school depends on the expertise, dedication, and leadership of the principal. As the representative of principals serving some 35 million children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, the Association is committed to excellence in elementary and middle level education as the foundation of all future academic achievement.
