National trade association based in Arlington, VA representing chain pharmacy industry seeks subject matter expert on pharmacy reimbursement issues specific to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial and other payer types and reimbursement issues.
Position will be responsible for technical review, analysis and support on regulatory and legislative issues impacting pharmacy reimbursement and coverage and patient access. Track key legislative and regulatory changes, public policy positions affecting chain pharmacy. Collaborate with consultants and other external Medicare and Medicare analysts. Serve as resource for staff and member companies. Co-lead/participate in taskforces and workgroups to prioritize reimbursement policy needs. Draft and review testimony, regulatory comments and other advocacy materials to support state and federal government affairs activities. Represent and speak before audiences on reimbursement issues.
NACDS is currently a hybrid workplace -- work at least two days per week in the office through the summer (one day is a designated department day) and may work remotely remaining days, subject to change at anytime. Remote work must be within a reasonable commuting distance of our Arlington VA office. Flexibility around core hours. Successful candidates will have: minimum seven years experience preferably in pharmacy industry, reimbursement, retail health and/or healthcare; demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy and/or retail health, Medicaid Medicare, private payers, pharmacy reimbursement, federal and state healthcare programs ; college degree in political science or public policy or health administration; effective public speaking, outstanding written communications skills; ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to commit/engage as productive member of a team.
