Independently develop, plan & execute academic events and programs for the Academy of International Business (http://aib.world) located at Michigan State University and its chapters, special interest groups, constituents, and affiliates around the world. Reports to the Executive Director. Programs and events include but are not limited to in-person and virtual academic conferences, workshops, development programs for research, teaching, curriculum development in international business serving professors and doctoral students worldwide. Identify universities, corporate and NGO partners for programs and sponsorships. Coordinate applications and manage recruitment process for doctoral training programs and oversee curriculum development. Negotiate and execute agreements with vendors and partners, including institutions, universities, venues, catering, A/V, exhibitors, and tech solutions for program/event development and delivery. Perform complex budgeting, data analysis, and reporting for development & execution of programs and events, identify financial needs, and develop strategic solutions. Travel internationally and domestically to develop and direct the events and programs. Review the Treasurer’s account reports monthly, quarterly, and annually with the Executive Director. Assist the AIB staff including the AIB Executive Board, committee members, special interest group and chapter chairs, and the Executive Director in the development of new programs and events. Work closely with the Communications Manager on newsletters, social media posts, and other communications as applicable to the programs and events. Assist the Executive Director in generating proposals for external funding for the programs and events. Work with scholarship and award committees on event recognitions, including but not limited to travel awards, scholarships, and program awards. Serve as liaison to government, business, industry, and other organizations. Nights and weekends may be required during conference/event peak times.

Candidates must have experience communicating with a global academic audience; planning, overseeing, and participating in academic events and programs; organizing conferences, workshops, board meetings, and similar events in global locations; performing financial analysis and budgeting of such events; preparing and presenting financial and attendance reports on such events. This position requires both domestic and international travel as conditions allow. Experience with data management and analysis; experience using computer technology to solve problems.
