AMWA’s Online Education Specialist provides project management for the development, implementation/delivery, evaluation, and improvement of online learning activities and webinars, ensuring that technology and systems are used in the most efficient and effective way to meet annual goals. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Specialist works collaboratively with subject matter experts, volunteers, and staff members. AMWA’s mission is to promote excellence in medical communication and to provide educational resources in support of that goal, and the Specialist plays a critical role in fulfilling this mission. Major areas of responsibility:
- Manage development, delivery, evaluation, and reporting for online learning activities and resources.
- Ensure that project management systems are in place to accomplish goals.
- Ensure smooth implementation of new online learning activities.
- Serve as Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator, handling troubleshooting, reporting, and consultation requests.
- Work effectively and efficiently with AMWA technology and systems

This role requires demonstrated experience using a collaborative approach in working with staff and committees to deliver and expand educational programs. At least five years of experience in educational course development and online learning programs, preferably with a membership association. Candidates must be familiar and proficient in working with technology and databases, such as association management systems (AMS), learning management systems (LMS), and content management systems (CMS). AMWA uses the YM suite of products, and experience with this system is a plus, but not a requirement.
