Search underway for the Executive Director of the Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD). The organization is headquartered in Lanham, MD and founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with ADHD. From one small support group, the organization has grown to become the leading non-profit national organization supporting children and adults with ADHD. CHADD’s mission is to improve the lives of people affected by ADHD. A 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, CHADD is composed of dedicated volunteers from around the country who play an integral part in the association’s success by providing support, education and encouragement to parents, educators and professionals on a grassroots level through CHADD chapters. Along with its growth in membership and reputation, CHADD has retained the passion and commitment of its founders.
The Executive Director is responsible for management and operations, building on the current mission and programs, expanding fundraising and development, maintaining fiscal health, and increasing outreach efforts and programs—including key areas such as governance, communication, advocacy, education, and donor relations. The ED will also establish and maintain external relationships that contribute to the achievement of CHADD’s vision, mission and goals. He/she will work closely with the Board to develop and model a desirable association culture – both internally and externally. The ED will have oversight of a $2.3 million annual budget and a staff of 14.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of senior or executive-level experience. An advanced degree is desirable. Although academic credentials are important, there is a strong preference for measurable, successful career experience in a closely related industry. A CAE and/or FACHE is considered a plus.
