COORDINATOR, POLICY
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator, Policy, will assist the NHC Policy team in driving the NHC’s policy and advocacy agenda.
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Policy & Government Affairs.
SALARY RANGE: $52,000 - $60,000

LOCATION: This position is located in Washington, DC. The National Health Council supports a hybrid workplace. Employees must be able and willing to work on site at least three days per week, pending federal and local health authority guidance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop agendas and develop/compile materials for NHC meetings
- Develop advocacy materials such as issue briefs, fact sheets, reports, and slide presentations
- Provide support in managing a team of consultants and their deliverables
- Serve as project lead on an assortment of NHC policy initiatives
- Provide meeting and logistical support (i.e. scheduling meetings, taking and/or distributing minutes)
- Attend hearings, briefings, coalition meetings, and conferences and prepare summaries
- Draft, edit, and send routine correspondence and memoranda
- Perform general administrative support as needed (i.e., managing databases, scheduling meetings, assisting with office-wide administrative duties, and processing reimbursable expenses)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Understand, demonstrate, and support the NHC’s mission and values.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of experience, preferably with a nonprofit or health organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft SharePoint, CVENT, and Zoom preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Self-motivated and ability to work proactively and independently when necessary
- Ability to troubleshoot and work well under pressure
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (political science, public health, health policy, health care administration, or related field)
