Turnaround Management Association is seeking a
Finance and Operations Specialist
Working directly with the Senior Director of Finance, this key role will primarily be responsible for preparing any financial analysis and reporting to assist in developing organizational strategy. Also from an operational perspective, the qualified individual will be managing the entire accounts payable process, travel/credit card programs including making recommendations for productivity enhancements and internal control improvements. This role will additionally be integral in our transition to a new AMS (Association Management Software).

What is the Opportunity?
This individual will lead the coordination of data for the forecasting and budgeting process and analysis of the consolidated results. More specifically they will be responsible for the following:
- Perform analysis to provide insight regarding budget variances and other trends and to produce predictive models.
- Create graphic reports with interpretations to present results of analysis along with actionable solutions.
- Work with senior staff to identify KPIs Investigate and use competitive intelligence to determine benchmarking for best in class for the industry.
- Create reports using Management Reporter/Microsoft Dynamics for senior staff.
- Oversight of accounts payable function ensuring that invoices are properly coded and in compliance with internal policy, tax reporting is completed.
- Manages the fixed assets reporting and coordinates the annual capital budget.
- Oversight of all chapter accounting for over 40 chapters to ensure that cash transactions are in balance and funds are transferred on a timely basis.
- Manage travel and corporate credit card program including electronic reimbursement and policy adherence.
- Work with Senior Director of Finance to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and implement process improvements.
- Work with the Senior Director of Finance to create and implement specifications for a new AMS.
- Assist in the transition to the new AMS and act as the point person for its day-to-day operations.
- Work with TMA staff to develop best practices for the new AMS and create documentation and processes for such.
- Other duties as assigned.
Interviews: Will be held on a virtual basis.
Job Location: Hybrid role with three days in the Chicago office (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) other days virtual.
Relocation assistance will not be provided.

What qualifications are needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Three or more years of experience in accounting and finance required.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter desirable. Experience with Association Management Software (AMS) a plus.
- Experience with analysis and statistical forecasting techniques.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to handle complex tasks and solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
- Ability to present data in a logical, concise manner.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Flexibility to changing direction of projects and strategies.
- Customer orientated and a desire to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently.
- Willingness to assist as needed within a small team environment.
- Ability to discuss and interpret accounting data to non-accounting personnel.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
