Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) is the state professional society serving Michigan’s pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists in all practice settings. What this job is about:
MPA is currently seeking a DYNAMIC and DRIVEN Membership Development Manager to grow association membership and bring added value to the association. The individual hired will have the opportunity to grow this position and make it their own!
Responsibilities Include:
- Member Engagement: Respond to and resolve member inquiries; develop new member engagement programs to achieve the MPA strategic plan and annual goals; make proactive outreach to prospective and new members as required.
- Member Recruitment and Retention: Work with the MPA membership director to develop and implement daily recruitment programs to achieve membership growth and retention goals driven by the MPA strategic plan.
- Member Communications and Marketing: Work closely with membership director and MPA staff to develop campaigns for communications related to membership and promotion of member benefits and the value of MPA membership.
- Database Management: Maintain the membership database including data entry, reporting and statistical analysis.
- Department Budget: Work with director to develop and track annual department budget.
- Staff liaison: Provide administrative support to several MPA committees, including drafting meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, preparing meeting packets and maintaining historical files.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field required or combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum two years in membership/communications/marketing or related field; association or chamber of commerce experience preferred
- Strong project and program management skills required
- Experience managing member engagement programs a plus
- Foster and build relationships within all levels of the organization
- Organized, self-directed, detail and deadline oriented
- Adapt quickly to new information, requirements, and priorities
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel 3 to 4 days per year for the annual conference and attend in-person local association meetings some evenings throughout each month or as needed
- Intermediate level proficiency using MS Office required
- Association membership database experience required
- Fiscally responsible financial management of department and events
