SUMMARY
The Meeting Program Associate provides administrative and logistical coordination of the Meeting Programs areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the organization of educational programs for scientific meetings planned by the Program Committee in an in-person, hybrid, or all-virtual environment.
- Coordinates communications for abstract submitters and presenters.
- Coordinates abstract presentation sessions at scientific meetings, supporting session chairs and presenters.
- Organizes the collection and review of proposals for scientific meeting panel sessions.
- Coordinates expense reimbursement process for non-staff participants in SfN events.
- Configures and tests software used to support scientific meetings.
- Serves as primary point-of-contact for participants in designated scientific meeting sessions.
- Assists with updating and proofreading electronic and printed informational materials for scientific meetings, ensuring accuracy of information across platforms.
- Produces various program-related reports and queries as needed.
- Writes the minutes from the committee meetings.
- Performs as primary correspondent for email inbox.
- Assists with coordination of program committee meetings including logistics and preparing materials/documents for the committee review.
- Staffs SfN’s annual meeting, committee meetings, and virtual meetings as assigned.
- Provides general office assistance and support as assigned.
- Provides customer service to members, abstract submitters, and scientific meeting attendees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience of 1-2 years.
- 1-2 years of previous office experience.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to work as a team player.
- High degree of collaboration is essential.
- Flexibility and the ability to multi-task are essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with organizing virtual programming is a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent should have strong skills with MS Office and familiarity with database programs and customer management systems is a plus.
