The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) is seeking a Membership & Education Manager to join its team. The Membership & Education Manager is responsible for oversight of AHF’s membership, education, and Benchmarking ExpressTM programs. The Membership & Education Manager would be responsible for the health and success of AHF’s membership growth, retention, and programming. This includes management of AHF’s Association Management Software (AMS), it’s Learning Management Software (LMS), and its Benchmarking Software. AHF’s Benchmarking Express program is a robust software that allows member facilities to benchmark themselves against other member facilities across 30 different Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is a creative, self-starter who is looking to join a dedicated and energetic team of 3 and a Board of 14 in managing the Association. The candidate will be a capable problem solver and willing to generate new ideas while working with fellow team members. The ideal candidate will be comfortable making verbal and written proposals to prospective members about the benefits of joining AHF. AHF is a cohesive, small team, willing to provide staff members with significant freedom to make management decisions and innovate on behalf of the Association and its members once trained. AHF’s team likes to try new things and never stops seeking new, fun, ways to deliver member programs.
The candidate must be capable of working remotely while maintaining a high level of professionalism. AHF has a small one-person office in Ballston, Virginia, at a shared office space with additional passes to use shared desks for local candidates if desired. However, this position is intended to be primarily remote. We will accept candidates who are not located in Virginia.
Management of AHF’s membership program including oversight of the AMS. Management of AHF’s recruitment and retention strategies and reaching growth goals set by the association.
Responsible for the development of new membership marketing programs, proposal development, and growth of system-level memberships (in conjunction with AHF’s Managing Director)
Management of AHF’s Education programming including monthly webinars and other educational content. Includes oversight of associated technology (LMS, Zoom, etc.).
Staff lead for the management, growth, and maintenance of AHF’s Benchmarking Express program
Maintenance and development of AHF’s Online Resource Library
Customer service and administrative support to AHF members by phone, email, or in-person
Serve as a critical part of planning (and attend) AHF’s Annual Conference to take place each August
Attend and support AHF Board of Directors and committee meetings as assigned
Serve as the staff lead for various committees such as the Benchmarking Committee, and Education Committee
Attend AHF’s annual conference each August
Attend additional AHF events if assigned
3+ years work experience in nonprofit membership management
Exceptional work ethic, eagerness to learn, and must be a self-starter
Knowledge and experience using technology systems and databases
Outstanding writing and communications skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong project management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a small team
Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Working experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Ability to work remotely while remaining dedicated and engaged with the position
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Familiarity with the foodservice management industry, nutrition, or healthcare
Experience with Association Management Software (AMS), Learning Management Software (LMS), and/or related database systems
Experience with WordPress or back-end website management
Experience with SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, Zoom, and similar systems
Experience with design and advertisement structure and execution
