At the direction of the CEO, the Data Analyst collects and analyzes data to identify trends. The analyst provides management, the Board of Directors, clients, or other stakeholders with valuable data that they can use to improve marketing and operations and also to streamline businesses practices and processes, using tools like MS SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, SAS etc. Main duties include identifying, gathering, analyzing data, and making your insights accessible to the organization through easy-to-understand graphs, charts, tables, and reports. The ideal candidate needs to possess strong analytical skills and the capacity to work with large amounts of data, extract relevant information and draw logical conclusions. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for supporting NFBPA’s leadership with processing, analyzing, and reporting of the national and individual chapter’s membership information. Other responsibilities include supporting the activities leading to the production of the membership budget and other required membership forecasts and analyses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures
Using data to predict trends in the member and customer base and the consumer population as a whole
Performing statistical analysis of data
Using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
Uses data analysis to engage Members, Corporate Sponsors, and Partner Organizations to help increase the added value the association brings to stakeholders
Develop and administer a survey of the membership
To determine how well the organization is assisting members professionally
To determine member budgetary impact
To assist organization in member services and recruitment techniques
Preparing reports and presenting them to leadership, the Board or clients
Identifying and recommending new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data
Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
Build time-series forecasting models to predict optimal inventory levels with the ability to back test assumptions
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science or economics.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a reporting and analysis role.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in leading complex, interdisciplinary projects to a timely completion.
Minimum two (2) years of experience using at least one of the following Business Intelligence systems or data mining tools: Business Objects, Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence, and MicroStrategy.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The ability to pay attention to detail when working with data to make accurate conclusions and predictions
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with stakeholders
A solid understanding of data sources, data organization and storage
Strong IT and mathematical skills
In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
Knowledge of relevant relational databases
Position does not supervise staff however, there is a significant amount of collaboration with other staff and stakeholders.
