The Manager, Governance Advisory Services is responsible for implementing the Business Advisory Service (BAS) business plan in concert with the Content team’s goals and objectives and NACD strategy. The Manager leads and owns the management of customized Education Programs, Board Evaluation Services, and other Board Services as they may develop. He/she/they will also support NACD’s other analytics work, such as surveys, polls, and event evaluations.
They will also work with BAS sales teams, marketing, and faculty to ensure that programs are rooted in current NACD thought leadership. This includes updates to program content and working with Faculty to finalize presentations for each custom Engagement. Excellent writing and communication skills are essential for the function of this role.
This is a client/NACD member-facing role. The Manager may be asked to assist with additional Content teamwork as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages assigned BAS Programs for timeliness, accuracy, and quality of materials and content
Creates and manages the execution of the operational plan to ensure Program delivery and quality in the event of an office closure
Fulfills requests of both the clients and Faculty as needed
Over time, the Manager will conduct some advisory engagements alongside Faculty
Engages with NACD’s marketing team to ensure that the BAS products are promoted appropriately
Leads conference calls with clients and Faculty to confirm the topics to be discussed during the Program and identify additional areas of interest/concern for the client’s Board and industry environment
Works with faculty and NACD stakeholders to ensure that NACD insights and other IP that form the backbone of BAS content are reflected in BAS engagements
Supports NACD Faculty to create and customize PowerPoint presentations to meet client needs
Researches and creates new content, and builds upon existing presentation modules to expand and updates Programming and BAS Curriculum
Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients and Faculty
Coordinates in-person and/or telephonic interviews with the Faculty and evaluation participants as needed
Assists with evaluation engagements, including survey creation, distribution, data extraction, and report generation
Works with other members of the Data Analytics team to assist with core team deliverables, such as surveys, polls, and other data-based deliverables.
Performs other duties as assigned
Experience delivering consultative engagements, including assessments desired. Proven record working with executive clients on complex engagements. Must be comfortable interacting professionally with company board directors, C-suite executives, and other governance experts.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a minimum of five years of professional corporate office experience is required. Must have high proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must exhibit excellent organization skills, demonstrable written and verbal communication skills, aptitude and interest in data analysis, and attention to detail. Must have an ability to work independently, take initiative, handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Experience with Salesforce and/or Qualtrics is a plus.
