Manage and coordinate up to 16 events each year (10 - 200 attendees). Work with staff and volunteer committees to develop event content and manage all event logistics, including contract negotiation, speaker/trainer contact, seating arrangements, food and beverage, audiovisual, onsite management, pre-and post-event communication with attendees, and the preparation of event materials.
Host/manage webinar events developed by a committee.
Also required will be minimal office duties and other duties as assigned.
Organized and detail-oriented with basic understanding of event planning, budgeting, working with volunteers, the Zoom platform and can communicate professionally.
Understanding of Microsoft Office, including experience with Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful.
The Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA), founded in 1960, exists to advance economic development throughout Michigan, and increase the individual member’s effectiveness in the economic development profession. The association’s goal is to provide a variety of services and programs that will enhance ability and skills in economic development. Through education, legislative updates, public relations and networking, MEDA makes it possible for economic development professionals statewide to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
