Our dynamic, inclusive, and passionate small staff team are looking for a rising superstar to lead membership retention & recruitment while being the internal expert on our AMS system. Reporting to the Executive Director the Manager shares with all staff a passion for our mission and the community we serve. The Manager will also be the internal data base expert, and help the team use data and best practices to position the organization as a must-have membership. The Manager will be a direct conduit to our membership ensuring top quality empathetic and efficient customer service.
Member Engagement, Programming & Customer Service
Oversee member benefits and programs to ensure positive, engaging experiences that surpass member expectations and advance the organization’s mission.
Ensure delivery of a comprehensive communication programs to inform and engage members from onboarding through renewal.
Ensure the organization is properly using technology as well as clear and transparent communication to seek member feedback, collect and track data including the use of member surveys, database reports and ongoing interaction.
Advocate for use of data to research and develop (or sunset) member benefits informed by internal and external data and best practices.
Working with the collaborative team to strategize and deliver growth for programs that support member engagement such as online learning, events, job boards and other value-add programs.
2. Member Retention and Recruitment
In collaboration with Executive Director, consultants and staff develop the annual membership recruitment and retention plan including goals, communications, and activities, required staff time and resources, and corresponding budget.
Oversee and monitor annual membership recruitment and retention activities, tracking the ROI of such activities and adjusting plans accordingly.
3 Budgeting, Reporting & AMS Oversight
Serve as the primary point-of-contact within the organization for the AMS, becoming proficient in its mechanics, benefits, and limitations.
Work with Executive Director to create the annual budget for membership.
Ensure delivery of on time monthly analysis financial reports to track performance versus budget and R&R goals.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
4 Collaboration and Leadership
As requested by Executive Director, present status and plans of membership strategy at Board meetings.
Serve as the staff liaison to the Membership Committee.
Support chapters with guidance and expertise on membership and other chapter related FAQs.
Work with member services-related vendor partners as appropriate within the team.
Other duties as assigned in team collaboration based on priority.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
College degree plus 3+ years of experience in a membership association developing and executing detailed plans projects, and budgets.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience creating positive and productive relationships with members and fellow staff.
Strong comfort and familiarity with AMS systems (Experience with Impexium a plus).
The ability to think critically to develop and adjust strategy to meet long-term goals
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Understands and actively supports the AATA’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, self-motivation, perseverance, and commitment to getting the job done.
While largely sedentary, this position requires the ability to sit, stand, lift up to 20 lbs., speak, and hear, sometimes for extended periods of time.
Requires the ability to use a computer and office equipment traditionally found in office settings.
Requires the ability to work occasionally after standard hours for member meetings, critical deadlines, or periodic travel, on behalf of the Association.
