Under the general supervision of the director of information technology the database administrator is responsible for the administration, data hygiene and training for all database related activities. Additionally, this position manages the performance, integrity and security of the database and ensures its optimization in line with strategic and operations goals.
Ensures database is performing optimally by working inter-departmentally to meet the Association’s data needs.
Works in collaboration with membership, training, customer success, meetings, marketing and other departments to ensure department data needs are met and develops interdepartmental use of data.
Uses understanding of membership data and industry trends to make informed decisions on data utilization and lead cross-departmental data projects to successful outcomes.
Establishes and implements data collection quality standards for all data collection activities; develops and enforces data collection policies and procedures; ensures data collection quality standards are in line with strategic and operations goals.
Develops and executes data hygiene policies and procedures; manages data hygiene projects and audits data hygiene.
Develops and administers employee database training including new hire training; develops and manages training SOPs and documentation.
Troubleshoots and communicates solutions for database and end-user issues; documents solutions and takes corrective action for recurring issues within the system.
Manages vendor relationships to success; serves as liaison to interdepartmental vendors as it pertains to the database.
Manages and executes relevant projects across the Association; conducts evaluation and analysis based on project outcomes to implement data management improvements.
Researches and executes strategies to create efficiencies in data collection; data hygiene and database capability; researches and recommends trends relevant to Association data management.
Creates and maintains relevant database documentation as directed.
Ensures data management system is compliant with all relevant regulations and laws.
Ensures data management system is secure and, in collaboration with IT staff, conducts ongoing security tests; conducts upgrades and system improvements.
Develops and distributes regular interdepartmental reports and special reports as requested.
Collaborates on internal teams and projects as assigned; other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience – Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; at least five years of relevant database management experience; proficiency in data manipulation languages including MS SQL; SQL Integration Services and KingswaySoft; proficiency in MS Dynamics 365, Office 365, Windows 10; experience establishing data quality standards, end-user training, managing vendors to success; experience creating reports and troubleshooting program issues; experience managing and maximizing association data; experience utilizing member data across the organization.

Preferred –Certified Data Management Professional.
Minimal travel to meetings; relevant events and ATSSA DC office.
Reports to the director of information technology.
