AWWA has a great opportunity for a high energy professional who has experience in implementing and assessing impact of a variety of AWWA membership programs. Our Senior Specialist – Membership Programs offers different ways that you can use your experience and skills to support and increase AWWA membership - thereby contributing to the water sector – ultimately impacting public health.
Part of this position’s target audience for membership are collegiate students and young professionals. AWWA student and YP members are the future of the water sector and membership provides an opportunity to build experience and knowledge by learning from water experts. You’ll have the opportunity to:
Develop student chapter programs and provide resources
Develop and foster relationships with higher education institutions
Ensure programming stays up to date with current student trends/needs
Promote student and university memberships, benefits, and programs to meet established goals
Develop mentorship programs and opportunities
Provide guidance and support to AWWA Young Professionals (YP) Committee
Champion AWWA’s portfolio of membership-related programs to include member affinity programs, acquisition program(s), appreciation and tenure programs.
Execute all activities associated with a variety of membership-based programs to include but not limited to communication, follow-up, tracking and fulfillment.
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (as needed) for purposes of pursuing recruitment strategies and/or sharing relevant membership intelligence
Represent membership internally to international programs, chapter relations, volunteer programs and diversity initiatives.
NOTE: Position requires 20% business travel (post pandemic)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience developing/managing programs, marketing, and/or other related development activities required
Experience analyzing data and using results to create and refine program development plans required
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the water field and collegiate environment strongly preferred
Experience working with volunteers preferred
Demonstrated group facilitation experience required
Proficiency in MS Office 365 suite; proficiency in database management strongly preferred
A member-centric relationship builder with adaptability to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Compensation based upon qualifications. Pay is targeted between $62,000 - $65,000. AWWA offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
