Position Summary The SQL Data Analyst will play a critical role across the organization to extract, report and analyze data from our iMIS Membership System. As a member-driven trade association, the SQL-based iMIS system is the backbone of our membership revenue and online marketplace. This position will require both technical and business acumen to distill data into actional information. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted-line reporting to the Chief Information and Strategy Officer and will support multiple departments of FPA such as the Member Experience Department, Marketing Department, Learning Department and many others. The successful candidate will have proven experience in technology platforms and will be a critical thinker with a solid financial and statistical background. Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Lead the integration of iMIS data to our cloud-based, Essbase-powered Hyperion analytic tool, Planning & Budgeting Cloud Services (PBCS).
- Work with multiple teams to ensure accuracy of core data sources resulting in one version of the truth.
- Develop data metrics, dashboards and ongoing reports to support all areas of the association from department leaders to Board of Directors.
- Collect, organize, and analyze responsive and predictive data to present insights that the entire organization uses to the best of our ability. Turn solid insights into problems to be solved.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration around membership by leveraging data insights to identify areas for improvement/opportunity that inform business decisions.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Filter and cleanse data to locate and correct issues.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns and identify areas of improvement.
- Discover and communicate patterns to be able to articulate the “why” behind the numbers and interpret data for non-technical audiences.
The FPA Central Office is in Denver, Colorado. For this position, FPA will consider remote-work arrangements for outstanding candidates from outside the Denver area. Staff members are currently working remotely due to COVID-19.
