This position will be writing for the CEO, and serves as key content creator, from drafting and editing internal and external communication pieces to creating content for social media, for the trade association. This role also serves as an operational, project management and administrative support for WSWA’s Communications & Marketing Team.
This position is the hub of a collegial, high energy, fast paced, creative and collaborative communications and marketing department that provides support to all WSWA departments and key advocacy initiatives. The ideal candidate is personable, flexible, highly organized, possesses strong written and verbal communications skills as well as a strong concept of marketing fundamentals. This candidate should take pride in their work, be efficient, detail-oriented, be comfortable sharing creative ideas and have an excellent ability to multitask and prioritize. The work executed by this position will be public-facing and often provide others their first impression of the Association.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree.
2-5 years professional communications experience.
Excellent proven administrative and organization skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strong research skills.
Mastery level in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to anticipate department needs, prioritize assignments, and work in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical environment.
Be a self-starter able to work without close supervision.
Able to consistently meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills, patience and ability to interface with all levels of management.
Team player, collaborative, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Limited travel (post-COVID-19) required for WSWA Membership events (2-3 times a year).
