Under the supervision of the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager is responsible for all functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Accounting for four (4) accounting entities.

Accounts Payable

• The collection, review, and verification of invoices and check requests for all entities.
• Prepare accounts payable batch for staff accountant data entry.
• Review and process employee expense reports to ensure compliance with Association policy before paying for all entities.
• Management and effective organization of vendor records in computer system as well as physical files, and related tasks.
• Timely processing of regular check runs for all entities.
• Reconcile monthly American Express expenses for CLA and RISE.

Accounts Receivable

• Staff Accountant sends CLA quarterly invoices for annual dues and associate dues.
• Staff Accountant sends RISE semi-annual invoices for annual dues.
• Staff Accountant sends annual task force dues for PRIA, IRAC and EPF.
• Task force contact.
• Prepare and send monthly invoices to CLI and ACRC.
• In March of every year, prepare and send an invoice to AgGateway for services provided by CLA.
• Other miscellaneous invoices.
• Staff Accountant sends to members and employees for various events as requested throughout the year for CLA, RISE and CLF. These include:
  • CLA and RISE Annual Board Meeting sponsorships and offline registrations.
  • CLA/RISE Spring Conference sponsorships and offline registrations.
  • CLA Winter Board Meeting
  • RISE Breakfast Meetings (3)
  • Law Committee after each meeting.
  • In December, SOC dinner meetings for the year.
  • Reimbursement invoices to members for various items.
  • COBRA invoices around the 10^th of each month.
  • Mid-year, additional AD&D insurance for various employees.
• Supervises the collection, verification, coding, input, and analysis of cash receipts and lockbox deposits inputted by staff accountant.
• Maintain spreadsheets for special invoicing projects; Annual Ally Sponsor Program etc.
• Collection emails or telephone calls as needed to collect all invoices sent.
• Maintain and update all customer accounts in Great Plains.
• Reconcile lists of all CLA members with Mitzi Miller as needed.
• Staff Accountant supervises the collection, verification, coding, input, and analysis of cash receipts and lockbox deposits.

Payroll

• Prepare and input payroll Uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
• Prepare semi-monthly spreadsheets for payroll and 401k match payments.

Participation in month-end closing.

• General ledger account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile CLA and other entity bank accounts
  • Standard JE’s for CLA: Payroll, depreciation, expense and benefit accruals, lobby accruals, vacation accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, personnel, intercompany balances, charges to CLI and ACRC, task force entries, payroll reimbursements, Amex upload for CLA.
  • Standard JE’s for RISE: Payroll Reimbursements, Amex upload for RISE.

• Compilation and analysis of financial information and preparation of accurate and timely journal entries in coordination with monthly closing schedule for all entities.
• Send task force spreadsheets to responsible parties and monitor spreadsheets to assure compliance with all policies and programs.

Assist Accounting Director with year-end financial statement audit.

Respond to all emails as soon and as definitely as possible to maintain strong credibility with members and fellow employees.

Review G/L accounts as often as needed and keep the controller aware as issues arrive.

Special projects as necessary.
