What you'll do: - Image evaluation and preparation:
- Evaluate the usability of digital images submitted by authors
- Evaluate the necessity of image adjustment/repair; add keys; recreate line art
- Convert digital images to appropriate formats and renames files
- Image arrays for print and online publication:
- Prepare figure parts: cropping, adjustments, and layout
- Create figure arrays per journal requirements
- Page composition for print and online publication:
- Assemble manuscript and image arrays into layout form per journal requirements
- Make corrections as requested
- Perform quality checks of both arrays and pages built by other production staff
What you'll need: - Specialized training in digital publication production
- 3+ years experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including:
- Photoshop
- InDesign
- Illustrator
- Bridge
- Acrobat Professional
- Additional experience in the following is recommended:
- Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- FTP
- Pitstop
- Dropbox
- Familiarity with medical publishing/images preferred, but not required
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
