Position Purpose The Director of Government Affairs is primarily responsible for helping to execute AHIMA’s lobbying and political strategies, developing and maintaining policy documents and tracking tools, and advocating with Members of Congress on important health information profession issues that align with AHIMA’s mission and vision. This position reports directly to the VP of Policy and Government Affairs and does not have any supervisory responsibilities but will have substantive authority over several key policy issues, will directly engage with federal policymakers and will also oversee management of AHIMA’s grassroots program.
