Reporting to the Director of Technology and working closely with the membership and events team, the Member Services Representative acts as the initial point of contact between members and the organization. This person is responsible for helping members renew membership, attend conference and education events, and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all MSCI membership processes. This position coordinates the MSCI member dues payment process as it relates to the MSCI database, including renewal notices, and booking payments. The ideal candidate will be able to act under the direction of senior MSCI staff or independently as required. A comfort with new technology is strongly desired as is an eagerness to improve current processes and procedures. Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Because MSCI has a small staff the position must be willing to jump in and help teammates as needed. This position requires critical thinking and a self-starter mentality.

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, timeliness, and customer focus of all MSCI membership processes and procedures.
Working with membership team, ensures accurate entry and maintenance of membership database.
Process event registrations, updates to member records, payments / refunds, subscriptions, and general inquiries about membership and the MSCI
Working closely with the Director of Technology to help manage the MSCI scholarship program.
Run reports and perform basic analyses of membership, event, and the institute’s financial trends.
Processes new members, including but not limited to setting up information in the database, providing access to “Members Only” section of the website, issuing invoices for dues and sending a welcome packet of information.
Coordinates the MSCI member dues payment process, including renewal notices and booking payments. Ensures that membership renewals, new members, and resignations are processed accurately and timely.
Accepts conference and education registrations via phone, email, or mail, issues receipts and/or confirmation letters, processes cancellations and changes.
Updates the MSCI website as directed.
Performs other projects as assigned by the Directory of Technology, or other senior MSCI personnel.
Assemble materials to support membership, credentialing, education and other areas of focus.
Provide on-site support at various events and conferences. This may occasionally require out of state travel

Some college experience required, college degree preferred.
One to two (1-2) years experience in a customer service environment.
Excellent telephone manner and accurate data entry skills.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Experienced working in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong writing skills.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures and ability to write business correspondence.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
MS Office, emphasis on Word and Excel, familiarity with database environments and e-mail products.
