The National Hydropower Association (NHA) – a nonprofit association dedicated to promoting the growth of clean, affordable U.S. hydropower, seeks a highly motivated and energetic individual for the position of Meeting Planner.
Position overview: The candidate will be part of a dynamic team that’s significantly expanding the association’s events and conferences. NHA is looking for an experienced meeting planner seeking to take his/her career to the next level.
The Meeting Planner will plan, organize, and execute events from initial stages of development, through on-site & wrap-up.
Duties include but not limited to:
Support NHA’s program of events, conferences, training seminars, workshop, webinars and meetings to achieve NHA’s goal to increase non dues revenue.
Provide project management for meetings and events including but not limited to regional meetings, special issue workshops, partner events, and member events.
Manage meeting logistics to include attendee and speaker communications, registration, catering orders, signage, vendor communications, shipments, web page management, and more.
Support and assist other departments with meeting-related questions and guidance.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Expertise Include:
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, hospitality or a related discipline * 3-5 years of experience in meeting planning, preferably for a nonprofit association * Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills * Excellent ability to balance multiple priorities * Detail-oriented, well-organized, quick learner * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite * Travel as required
