The position will be responsible for providing reporting and analytical support to BIO’s Membership and Business Operations Division. This position will be responsible for managing and navigating multiple software systems in depth, developing reports, optimizing performance processes, providing market research and competitive analyses. These responsibilities will provide management with timely, accurate and relevant information to make strategic and tactical business decisions surrounding the organization’s revenue generating operations. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, has excellent analytical and communication skills.
Engage with members of the Membership and Business Operations Division and Industry Research department to gain a solid understanding of existing systems, the underlying data, and how each system supports the organization.
Partner with cross functional teams to outline and prioritize data reporting gaps and develop methods, processes, or checks to assess and improve the quality of data across the data life cycle from reporting, entry, access, extraction, and use.
Utilize queries to aggregate, manipulate and analyze data across multiple systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Identify opportunities for improvement across the organization’s current software platforms and recommend solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and utilization, including the evaluation of advanced reporting tools (SQL, Salesforce, Microsoft BI, etc.) and data warehousing tools.
Maintain, track, analyze and interpret event and industry trends in order to provide management with recommendations on the organization’s long-term financial strategy (e.g. retention, growth, loyalty, discounts, pricing, attendee activity).
Provide analytics on the organization’s various revenue streams, including historical trends, patterns, program performance and forecasts, cost and benefits versus pricing.
Build and modify reports and dashboards to provide relevant and actionable data for management and users.
Produce written materials describing data analyses, including key trends, events, and milestones.
As needed, develop and use advanced forecasting and analytic methods (simulation/Monte Carlo, regression analysis, etc.)

Detail oriented with strong data and business analytics skills.
A solid understanding and knowledge of budgeting, data analysis, and coordination.
Proven expertise with reporting, analysis, and presentation tools, including advanced reporting tools like Tableau, Salesforce Einstein, Microsoft BI, etc.
Effective team player, highly communicative and cooperative, active listener and innovative researcher.
Proven independent, self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness and research capabilities.
Preferred understanding of capital markets and trends in overall financial investment in biotech, pharmaceuticals and other medical technologies.
College degree or equivalent years of experience, advanced degree a plus.
5+ years of related work experience as a data analyst or related field.
Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large data sets and databases.
Experience working for corporate or association conferences/conventions preferred.
An acumen for the biotech industry a plus.
Must be willing to travel (as needed).
