POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Director serves as the chief staff officer of the PipelinePros User Group with a primary responsibility of growing the group membership and attendance at the group conferences and events. Working in conjunction with volunteer leadership and the professional management staff, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and operations of the organization. In this capacity, the Executive Director provides fiscal and personnel management, develops effective relationships with the Oracle Commerce user community and positively represents the association to external audiences. The Executive Director maintains a high level of knowledge of and extensive experience in managing associations, membership organizations and/or nonprofit organizations. The Executive Director shall demonstrate entrepreneurial business skills for the growth and development of PipelinePros. The Executive Director reports to the PipelinePros Board of Directors and Vice President of Business Development of Associations International. All functions performed by the Executive Director are carried out within parameters established by PipelinePros bylaws, strategic plan, annual budget and other policies established by the Board of Directors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Management
- Provides for effective execution of PipelinePros programs, services and events in line with the strategic plan or direction as established by the board.
- Provides for sound fiscal planning and management in collaboration with the board leadership.
- Provides oversight for the support of committees and/or advisory groups.
- Communication
- Provides information to the Board Chair and Board of Directors to keep them apprised of activities and key developments within the organization.
- Maintains effective communication with members.
- Provides for the development of effective association communication vehicles
- Effectively convey key marketing messages to the PipelinePros audience
- Establish credibility with the wider user community and vendors
- Relationships
- Works and communicates with members in a responsive and respectful manner, demonstrating sensitivity to member needs and interests, and exhibiting effective leadership qualities.
- Maintains “partner” relationship with Chair and Board of Directors.
- Works in a positive and productive manner with the Board of Directors, responsive to board input and direction and offering sound advice and guidance.
- Develops a relationship of mutual support with the staff, provides the staff with effective leadership and fosters high staff performance and morale.
- Establishes and/or maintains sponsorship relationships to sustain non-dues revenue.
- Establishes effective working relationships with other like user groups, which reflect positively on and contribute to PipelinePro’s stature in the industry.
- Representation
- Serves as the association primary representative in the absence of the Chair as necessary.
- Serves with the Chair as co-spokesperson to the media.
- Event Planning
- Experience of arranging conferences and online events with 500+ attendees
- Great negotiation skills with conference venues and suppliers

- Serves as a facilitative leader for the Board of Directors and other volunteer leadership groups, offering recommendations, advice and counsel while consistently recognizing and adhering to the ultimate authority of the Board of Directors.

- Employs effective leadership skills in the management of staff and contractors.
- Maintains a positive and influential leadership profile within the user group industry.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED - Minimum of 3-5 years of professional business/management, association management and or non-profit management experience.
- Experience working with a volunteer, nonprofit Board of Directors
- Experience with sponsorship development, donor stewardship and nonprofit giving in a variety of forms (individual, organization, events, major, planned, annual, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Public speaking experience
- Ability to travel frequently and work some nights and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from an accredited college or university
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED - Experience managing 501c6 organization and/or technology/user group organizations
- CAE Certification
- Master’s degree in a business-related field from an accredited college or university
- Experience with/knowledge of the technology user group industry
