Public Policy Assistant
Take action! Work in a dynamic and fast paced public policy division in a nationally-recognized health care professional association. The American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) has an immediate opening for a Public Policy Assistant. This position is limited only by what your talents are! We are seeking an individual with top-notch administrative skills to be responsible for:
Business office organization, to include: setting up meetings, preparing materials, using Word/Excel/Outlook systems, and communicating with all levels of staff;
Assisting with social media including web postings and internal communications; &
Monitoring some policy sources for information such as reading the Federal Register and other notices to convey items to appropriate staff.
Specific requirements include: Associate degree and 2-4 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience. Professional certification in office management preferred (such as IAAP certification as Certified Administrative Professional (CAP), ASAP certification as Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence (PACE), etc.)
Qualified candidates will:
Be computer proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Possess excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff and members and be customer-focused
Ability to handle multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines
Demonstrate an interest in public policy
