The Building Commissioning Association (BCxA) seeks an experienced Marketing Manager professional looking for a fun and challenging role in a small, team-focused office. If you like to roll up your sleeves, balance multiple tasks and deadlines, and use great time management skills, this opportunity is for you. The position is full-time, working at the headquarters office of an international membership organization focused on commercial building commissioning, in Hillsboro, Oregon. You would become responsible for our marketing plan, social media communications, outreach, annual membership meeting, annual international conference, and on-site training classes. You would work with staff and the volunteer-based Marketing Committee to develop and implement social media and other marketing strategies for BCxA membership, events, professional training, and industry resources. This a small office with a close-knit team that values collaboration and communication.
Working with external vendors, maintain BCxA’s website and ensure website promotes current and accurate information. This includes working with Association Management Software (AMS)
Update and maintain social media and send mass communications pertaining to events and conferences.
Produce our e-Newsletter The Checklist with the Editorial Board
Create messaging with staff and committees for print and electronic media.
Write press releases, engage and maintain relationships with media outlets.
Ensure timely development of BCxA’s marketing and communication pieces, including press releases, feature articles, program collateral, paid advertising, etc.
Develop and disseminate conference and event marketing and promotional messaging to attendees, participants, sponsors, exhibitors, and partners through email, social media, print communications, and event websites.
Organize BCxA’s representation at national trade shows and meetings. This includes working with the Marketing & Outreach Committee to select events.
Work with the Executive Director to schedule, plan, budget, execute and evaluate the BCxA Annual Conference and special events such as board/committee retreats, training programs, and workshops).
Lead site review, selection and negotiation of conference and event contracts, nationally.
Produce and manage hotel specifications, menus, rooming blocks, on-site logistics, audio/visual specifications, offsite functions for attendees, and tracking of inventory of supplies and transportation.
Travel within North America up to 4 times a year.
Lead coordination of board/staff/chapters/committees and preparation leading up to each conference or event.
Work in partnership with staff to develop and achieve conference and meeting budget goals.
Provide regular support to, and coordination with, the training and online learning programs and BCxA webinar series, and support online meetings and webinars as needed.

Ability to effectively network, build relationships and coordinate with diverse groups of people from across North America.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or hospitality OR3-5 years related experience.
Experience with digital marketing and social media platforms (e.g., MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, LinkedIn, Twitter).
Experience with engaging industry trade press a plus.
Plus (Nice to Have)
Intermediate to advanced skills working with Adobe Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation a plus.
