Global Association seeks highly motivated, innovative, seasoned individual to direct, develop, and implement new initiatives to enhance the quality of continuing education programs and activities. We are looking for an individual to help our members advance their skills and knowledge. In this role, you should be passionate about assisting members to learn and grow. This position will oversee the professional education programs for members of a large global association. Educational offerings include face-to-face conferences, large annual convention, training and certification programs, and a variety of distance learning products. Must be a strategic thinker with current knowledge of educational technologies and effective adult learning methods. Must possess the ability to manage and motivate staff and build rapport with staff, members and volunteer leadership.
Directs and oversees the development and implementation of professional development/continuing education initiatives for NFDA.
Develop goals, strategies, and philosophy for the Education and Meetings division. Ensures that industry professional development needs are addressed.
Perform needs/gaps analyses using available data and evaluate program outcomes to continually improve education programs.
Ensure education programs support ongoing member skill and career development, promote the knowledge of professional standards, and keep members abreast of important topics in the industry.
Analyze program success based upon participant survey results, number of attendees and marketing strategies/messages including ensuring feedback is used for program improvement and resource effectiveness.
Participates and oversees the keynote speaker selection process for annual convention.
Oversee development and implementation of Education and Meetings division efforts.
Provide day to day leadership, and direction to division staff. Communicates effectively with all staff, members and non-members.
Oversee management of division related budgets.
Participate in the strategic planning process and assess progress against plan strategies and tactics.
Serve as the liaison with other funeral service organizations as directed by the CEO.
Stay current on funeral service issues and trends.
Develop appropriate budget proposals annually, supervises planning for budge expenditures and approves bills.
Supervises the Director of Education and the Convention, Events, and Meetings Director.
Periodically represent the association at conventions, board meetings, educational events, etc as requested, including preparing and giving oral presentations.
Promote and assist in carrying out the Association’s mission, vision and goals in a manner consistent with the Association’s stated values.
Exhibit flexible and innovative approaches while performing essential responsibilities and assignments and participating in strategic leadership, management and special project teams.
Embrace and actively participate in a variety of work teams as requested or assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
A Bachelors degree in Adult Education or related field, a Masters Degree preferred, with minimum of 10 years’ experience in an adult education or association setting with management experience to include curriculum development and instructional design, and working with content experts. Strong project management, strategic thinking and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and ensure deadlines are met is required. Experience/familiarity with meeting planning and logistics in regards to large scale conventions is a plus. Experience working with learning management systems and online course development software is preferred. CPLP is desired. Funeral Service industry experience a plus. Some travel is required.
