This is a part-time, exempt position, responsible for working with Editors (especially two Editors-in-Chief), two editorial boards, and members of the professional team to manage two scientific journals.
Oversee all aspects of publishing for two peer-reviewed scientific journals, including planning, budgeting and operations.
Develop, manage and meet production and publishing schedules for journals.
Work closely with two Editors-in-Chief to provide ongoing publishing counsel.
Manage relationship(s) with journal publishing company.
Serve as primary customer service contact to provide support to authors and reviewers.
Recommend technical or operational advances to improve article delivery and reach
Assist with establishing editorial guidelines and scope
Maintain online submission and peer-review system, balancing speed with high quality
Prepare routine management reports and maintain master reference files for the Journals.

A proactive listener who builds relationships with volunteers and elicits their ideas and support for current and future publishing endeavors.
A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to the overall planning and execution of SLAS scientific publishing. Focused on increasing revenues and cost efficiencies while adding value for readers.
