FPA is seeking a full time Chapter Engagement staff member who will serve half time as the chapter executive for FPA of Colorado. This position supports the FPA of Colorado Board of Directors and is charged with implementing the operational plan and integrating FPA strategies and programs with those of FPA of Colorado. The chapter executive is the official connection between FPA and FPA of Colorado and therefore will work closely with key FPA staff.

Core Areas of Leadership
Build and maintain relationship/partnership with FPA of Colorado Board of Directors and committees
Regularly working with the treasurer to develop annual budget, communicate the financial condition and report status of goals
Ensure that FPA of Colorado goals align with FPA’s Strategic Framework
Facilitate annual strategic planning
Attend and manage board meetings including agenda, minutes and follow up
Guide the board in association best practices
Leadership Training and Development
Lead onboarding and training of new board members
Work with chapter leadership to implement plans and programs
Assist in development and implementation of succession plan
Member Recruitment and Retention
Work with FPA to create and implement a recruitment plan
Work with FPA of Colorado volunteers to ensure effective onboarding of members
Secure meeting venue
Assist in contracting speaker
Promote membership meetings
Manage event registrations, payments and invoices
Handle continuing education credit process
Manage meeting logistics including speaker, sponsor, A/V, food and beverage, registration tracking and name badges
Maintain the member database and chapter website
Manage day to day operations of the chapter.
Work with FPA of Colorado Board to administer advocacy activities
Respond to member phone calls and email in a timely manner
Maintain communication with FPA and participate in monthly Chapter Leader Training, contacting FPA staff as needed.
Identify areas for organizational improvement and
Attend the OneFPA Chapter Leaders Conference and other training.
Prepare initial drafts of chapter email distribution announcements
Such activities as may be directed by the board
Work with FPA to develop and implement integrated technology systems
Develop measurement tool to analyze member engagement from HQ to local community level
Develop statewide sponsor and partner opportunities with revenue share
Duties as may be assigned by FPA of Colorado Board of Directors
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
Certified Association Executive (CAE), preferred
10+ years of prior association management experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior presentation skills required.
Candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, exceptional responsiveness, and ability to manage and balance many activities.
This position requires a true self-starter. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel around the area, attend Chapter functions. Travel out-of-town to FPA functions may be required.
Must be comfortable with volunteer management, working with multiple Chapter Leaders and key stakeholders.
High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with Star Chapter and iMIS is preferred.
