TheNational Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking a Senior Director, Membership (National Team Lead) to provide oversight of staff as assigned. Provide effective management of staff members and processes. Facilitate integration with other parts of the organization in order to maximize the ability to establish value added messages to members and prospects. Engage in staff development and training. Work with the Vice President in developing business strategies to ensure strong retention and new member sales. Review and analyze dues data and make recommendations based on findings. Assist Vice President with the division’s budget and make operational changes enhancing efficiency.

Manage staff as assigned with a focus on effective performance management. Work with Assistant Vice President to set sales and retention targets for staff. Actively manage the staff and the sales/retention processes on a daily basis. Work with staff to brainstorm approaches when faced with sales/retention problems in a territory.
Establish and monitor performance metrics related to new member sales, territory management, dues increases and retention. Utilize available technology to collect and interpret sales production. Report performance on these metrics to the Assistant Vice President and senior management as appropriate.
Coach staff in executing effective/persuasive oral and written company-specific pre-call efforts and presentations to fully maximize dues income.
Implement strategies to effectively exceed sales and retention objectives with a focus on revenue and net gain growth. Benchmark best practices with other inside sales operations and utilize the expertise of successful staff members to develop innovative approaches for short and long-term growth.
Assist the Assistant Vice President in developing marketing and strategic plans, training initiatives, retention/acquisition programs and internal sales processes.
Work with the Assistant Vice President to represent the National Department to headquarters committees, regional trade shows/events, SMM prospects and the SMM Board. Staff regular NAM director phone conferences ensuring that they are focused on company concerns and secure support for retention, dues increases and new member sales.
Leverage the Board leadership to effectively drive member involvement and improve retention in the SMM market.
Direct and support efforts to effectively integrate the National Department’s activities with other departments throughout the NAM especially with Policy & Government Relations, Corporate Affairs, media, member communication, marketing and the Field Department.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other relevant discipline
10+ years of experience in a direct sales and/or telephone sales environment in manufacturing, association, consulting, advisory services or memberships
Experience with “C” level sales is required
Previous experience successfully managing revenue staff is required
Must be able to engage in teambuilding activities and be adept at motivating high levels of stales performance Proficiency with sales software and other computer applications is necessary
