The Member Development Manager will oversee all membership recruitment and retention related initiatives and activities; support and coordinate all membership projects and new initiatives that fulfill the AIPLA mission. Candidate must have strong communication skills, project management experience, and extensive knowledge of membership databases, preferably NetForum.
This position manages the Project Assistant in Membership and works closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Member Development Management
This position is responsible for: Maintaining, managing, and updating the AIPLA membership recruitment & retention program. In addition this position will: Manage outreach tactics and administer/coordinate activities to market member services, programs and products. Serve as the primary staff liaison to the AIPLA Membership Committee. Develop and maintain relationships for external marketing and monitor AIPLA social media strategy. Evidence of a proven track record with Member Recruitment and Retention should be submitted with application.
Membership Marketing & Communications
This position will: Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Design Consultant and the COO on AIPLA marketing materials for membership retention, recruitment, and engagement efforts. Use various tools to promote membership; connect with potential members; and promote AIPLA. Monitor and evaluate analytics for marketing efforts for member outreach. This position will require coordination with other departments within AIPLA and will work closely with the Marketing and Communication Manager to develop and maintain an internal communication schedule.
Reciprocal Agreements & Advertising
This position will: Support advertising sales and sponsorship and develop/maintain reciprocal arrangements with media partners and sister organizations as necessary.
Association Membership Experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Strong project management experience, extensive knowledge of and experience with computers, computer programs, membership networks and databases (NetForum). Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Master’s degree a plus. Familiarity with an association or non-profit organization, highly desirable. Must be able to multitask with accuracy and speed, prioritize, retrieve information, and meet deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. Travel required and the ability to work weekends as needed.
