The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the largest trade association in the nation, is seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to provide budget expertise to eight Program Managers and the VP of our highly visible Executives Offices (EXO) team. The EXO team supports the Association’s elected officers, 88 committees and a 900-person Board of Directors, plus other elected and appointed leadership.
This 20-hour / week position requires a poised and trustworthy individual, able to handle confidential information and potentially sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
Assist EXO Program Managers in the development of the budgets for their respective areas. Work with each area to budget anticipated expenses, forecast expenses monthly, and prepare a report of actual expenses.
Develop the department’s annual budget with input from the Program Managers.
Reconcile monthly expense statements from the elected officers and forecast the officer travel budget.
Manage the department’s expense reporting in the Lawson system and Association’s budget system for any adjustments. Ensure that all invoices have been charged to the correct department within EXO and across the Association.
Forecast the department’s monthly budget, prepare year-end accruals, and reconcile any year-end discrepancies.
Manage related administrative duties, such as preparing for the annual Budget Review Team meeting and creating PowerPoint presentations.

4 - 5 years of finance / accounting experience, focused on budget preparation
Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
A passion for accuracy, thoroughness, “going the extra-mile” and a “can-do” attitude
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Excel
Familiarity with Lawson and association experience a plus
