American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has a wonderful opportunity for a Manager, Volunteer Leadership Development (VLD) Profession Governance.
This position develops and aligns programs with AHIMA strategy to achieve the goals of the Volunteer Leadership Development (VLD) team. This position facilitates the development of materials, projects and programs supporting the House of Delegates (HoD) in collaboration with Component State Associations (CSAs). The manager will serve as the primary staff liaison to the HoD and CSAs on governance and association management. In addition, the position will serve as staff facilitator for the Professional Ethics Committee (PEC).
The position is accountable for the following:
Serve as primary staff liaison to the HoD.
Work with Speaker and members of the Board of Directors to develop the HoD strategic plan
Responsible for the planning, development and promotion of resources for HoD delegates.
Collaborate across the organization to identify opportunities to engage and support dialogue with delegates.
Develop programs and projects with the House Leadership and Envisioning Collaborative Teams to meet HoD charges and support member needs.
Participate in PEC through Code of Ethics policy and procedure development.
Manage and guide issues through the ethic complaint violation process.
Consult with legal counsel and management as needed in ethics violation review.
Oversee the Volunteer Center and the appointment process to provide a consistent volunteer experience.
Create strong leaders for the Association and HIM profession through developing a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Provide a consistent experience for open AHIMA volunteer positions.
Master’s Degree preferred
3 years of health information management or healthcare experience preferred
RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
Familiarity with Association and project management desirable
Ability to work independently, respond effectively and efficiently to deadlines, and prioritize workload
Ability to gather, understand and analyze data from a variety of sources and use information gathered to make decisions
Diplomacy and tact in working with volunteer leaders and sensitive information
Ability to oversee the interpretation and implementation of policies
