We have an opening for an experienced marketer who can connect potential members and suppliers to our association. The director will lead a team of sales, marketing and membership professionals and reports to the Executive Director as a key member of the senior management team.
AJA is looking for a mission focused individual with a demonstrated history of driving growth and profitability, preferably in the professional association community.
The Director of Marketing and Membership Engagement will lead our national marketing efforts and be responsible for managing all marketing functions and membership development nationally.
Be a thought-leader and change-agent for the AJA brand nationally, overseeing branding, marketing and advertising strategy and marketing metrics
Understand and direct the positioning, messaging, branding and marketing strategy of the Association
Utilize market research to define target markets and improve our product value propositions, implementing the best market-penetration strategies to reach those markets.
Develop and execute marketing campaigns for all products that AJA offers, including workshops, webinars, technical assistance products, the annual conference and various publications and tools for the jail community
Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and execute dynamic campaigns that drive membership growth
Capitalize on digital marketing and leverage the latest technologies to improve upon the AJA brand
Working with our Communications team, develop strategic marketing materials
Be a great leader, coach, and manager to a team of sales and membership professionals
Manage all aspects of marketing planning, budgeting, metrics and reporting
Strong understanding and experience in Associations
7+ years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on marketing expansion and identifying emerging market trends
5 years of leadership experience with the ability to motivate and provide professional development
Membership marketing leader who has had success building the membership base
Knowledge of marketing principles, demand generation, brand, product management, sales and business development and a demonstrated track record of success and performance
Experience working with a variety of traditional and modern marketing and communications functions including: branding and messaging to different target audiences
Bachelor's degree required.
