The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) is searching for a Corporate Relations Specialist. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., CFP Board is the certifying body for over 76,000 financial planning professionals. It is the non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP® certification. Reporting to the Managing Director, Corporate Relations, the Specialist is a key team member that is responsible for outreach to key contacts at financial services firms to support CFP® certification as well as developing new contacts for outreach, writing content for Blogs and newsletters, and conducting webinars. The Specialist will also provide calendar and call support to the Managing Director. Other duties include managing and supporting outreach initiatives for events and programs, providing support and coordination to the Center for Financial Planning, and creating and delivering presentations for meetings.
Those who have experience in developing and cultivating relationships over the phone and in person, possess 3 to 5 years in the Financial Services industry (preferred), and have good time management and organizational skills should apply. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, possess a positive attitude, and have a strong work ethic. Some travel will be required. A BA/BS degree is required, CFP® certification is preferred but not required.
