The ideal candidate is currently a top producer in both business travel and group market segments. The key responsibility of this position is to ensure proper solicitation of all business transient and group accounts focusing on corporate and government, to manage current accounts, and to reach or exceed budgeted hotel room revenue for defined market segments.
The Associate Director of Sales is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales & Marketing in the direction, coordination, and supervision of the Sales & Catering Manager(s) and the Sales Administrator in all sales-related activities, including direct sales efforts, follow-up and proper sales administration.
Essential Responsibilities: • Solicit Group and Business Transient directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution, and completion of action plans. • Provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in specific markets assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing. • Achieve a strong pace and funnel to meet and exceed individual assigned revenue goals. • Successfully achieve and exceed weekly activity goals. • Conduct sales calls locally or domestically using all resources provided by company. • Must exude passion for leading and promote positivity throughout the department and hotel. • Develop/Create exciting and memorable site inspections to accompany inventive and creative proposals. • Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the supervision and administration of all activities of the Sales Department. • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s, and assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in ensuring knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the Sales and Catering team. • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the operation of the Sales and Catering Department within established sales expense budget. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the administration of training in the sales department. • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing by conducting all employee/manager Performance Appraisals. • Motivate, coach, and mentor the Sales and Catering Team. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing by monitoring production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market and ensure the Sales Team is held accountable for those accounts within their market. • In the absence of the Director of Sales & Marketing, conduct Daily Business Review and Group Pick Up, and Sales meetings. • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in the hiring and development of Sales and Catering Department employees and managers. • Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors. • Assist in preparation of complete and accurate end-of-month reports. • Assist in the preparation of the annual Marketing Plan. • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
Qualifications: • At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. • Active listener. • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Additional Salary Information: • Bonus Program: up to 20% of your salary paid quarterly & 5% of your annual salary.
• Gratuities: (2%) of Banquet revenue booked and serviced by individual. (1%) if booked and serviced by another team member.
