The Director of Database & Web Services is responsible for the administration, maintenance and support for all database and web activities. This position is responsible for developing a clear understanding of our business needs and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of appropriate database, website and other related services. Develop and implement policies to guide input, and ensure databases and website effectively capture member information and generate accurate membership, financial and analytical reports. Manage external vendor relationships and provide ongoing training and support to database and web site users. The Director of Database & Web Services interacts with, and is a member of the Senior Management Team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Serves as technical database expert and provides high-level functionality of database processes related to certification, membership, conference, annual maintenance, accreditation, etc.) Provide oversight and management of significant database processes (revenue deferral, batch closing, online submittals, etc.)
Assess, develop and improve data quality standards and controls. Assure the data integrity of individual and organizational records in the AMS and in other associated or integrated software packages.
Ensure the effective integration of our database with our web site and other web services. Deliver data integration solutions that are consistent, reliable, secure, efficient, and leverage industry best practices.
Enhance staff’s ability to use our database and web services in their tactical business pursuits
Support business units by providing technical support and problem resolution, assisting with the creation of reports and queries, ensuring that staff is trained in the proper use of our databases, listservs, CMS, LMS, and other web services.
Document and maintain a current understanding of the Association’s data, data sources, data flows, and business rules regarding data; map business processes to data models
Develop and execute business plans for development and implementation of new systems or added functionality.
Develop and monitor budget and assist other departments with obtaining cost proposals for future needs.
Create guidelines and documentation to ensure consistency in the use of databases (SOPS)
Manage vendor relationships and work within established budget parameters to achieve results from vendors at reasonable cost. Maintain effective relationships with vendors to assure proper functionality, report and resolve issues, and identify improvements.

Troubleshoot database problems as they arise, submit and follow-up on help desk tickets to ensure timely resolution of database problems.
