ASN is seeking an experienced digital content specialist with excellent website production, editing and project management skills, and business acumen who can: 1) manage acquisition, creation, and dissemination of website communications; 2) plan, develop, update, and maintain digital content; and 3) support and maintain website platform/structure.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing websites, strong content acquisition experience, and proven success dealing with professionals, including soliciting contributions and editing their work for clarity, tone, content, and in keeping with technical and website style guides. The ideal candidate will be able to edit short- and long-form writing and will be accountable for managing production calendars that support content development.
This position also requires proven research skills. Kidney News Online must always reflect and present the most up-to-date information in all aspects of kidney medicine, science, policy, and education, which requires a commitment to constantly monitor and report on changes in these areas, and the judgment to recognize areas that are controversial and/or require input from other departments within ASN.
Flexibility is essential to success; the position requires a proven ability to prioritize project workflow and manage multiple projects/deadlines. The Content Editor must enjoy working with and independently resolving the challenges associated with shifting deadlines, late contributions, and last-minute changes.
The Content Editor will establish principles for content retention, in accord with overall ASN protocols, and maintain the archive.
