GHLA is seeking a vibrant self starter to work with Georgia's dynamic hotel and lodging industry. The membership director’s main function is to continue to grow and retain membership in GHLA for all lodging categories.
Key responsibilities include:
Sell GHLA membership in all lodging categories
Meet sales goals set forth by the GHLA officers and GHLA executive director.
Visit members across the state as travel permits
Call on and solicit memberships with prospective members in Metro Atlanta and across the state
Create an ongoing membership marketing campaign
Attend local lodging meetings across the state as travel permits
Work with the Director of Finance & Records to maintain membership reports
Document and maintain the database for membership correspondence
Continually add GHLA prospects to WebLink Database (association management software)
Assist in the operation of the hotel councils (chapters)
Coordinate membership reports for the GHLA board, executive committee meetings and chapter meetings
Increase member retention
Assist as necessary with events
Be actively involved with ISHAE (International Society of Hotel Association Executives) and other related hospitality organizations
Work with local direct marketing organizations
Participate in annual Legislative Action Summit in Washington (2 day conference)
Attend functions with the Executive Director on matters concerning local governmental affairs
Support the Governmental Affairs efforts during and between legislative sessions
Assist with regular social media postings for GHLA
Other duties as assigned
Strong organizational, verbal, written, and project management skills
Working knowledge of the lodging and hospitality industry
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to prioritize competing and multiple projects
Working knowledge of Weblink Association Management software a plus
Capable of managing databases with financial and contact information
College degree or equivalent years of experience
Degree in business/hospitality/association management a plus
Possess experience in sales-related position
Work experience in hospitality or association management industry a plus
Ability and willingness to travel
Must have a valid driver’s license
Location: Although telecommuting is allowed, a successful candidate must be a resident in the Metro Atlanta area.

Additional Salary Information: Base salary is enhanced with a generous commission structure for lodging membership sales. Cell phone, service, computer, printer, and office supplies all provided. Mileage and expenses provided for association related travel. Company provides a match for a simple IRA plan.
