DANB is seeking a highly organized individual with proven ability to maintain organizational systems for large amounts of information and to assist in improving existing processes. An interest in healthcare public policy is a plus, but not required to be successful in this position.
The Government Relations Coordinator will
Monitor, document and track information about the regulation of dentistry, and participate in developing an efficient system for gathering and reporting critical information
Assist with managing the annual proofing process for and updating of two annual publications containing compiled legislative and regulatory information about dentistry
Assist in developing responses to requests for information about the regulation of dental assisting, with emphasis on presenting the sometimes complex information in an easy to understand format
Assist in developing/editing/updating online documents and collateral materials, including those containing state data and those related to the organization’s efforts to educate state policymakers about its role in assessing competency of dental assistants and its related program management services
Provide a variety of other high-level administrative support services
The successful candidate will
Be adept at using software to the fullest of its capabilities to maximize work efficiency
Be skilled at organizing and presenting large amounts of electronic, sometimes complex, information using a variety of tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Excel, Word) in ways that are easy to understand for multiple stakeholder audiences
Have excellent reading comprehension and be able to understand complex material
Have excellent time management skills
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience, either in government relations or public policy field or in a high-level administrative support role
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required; experience in developing databases desirable
Some design/desktop publishing (e.g., InDesign) experience preferred
