This candidate manages the logistical aspects of the tradeshow floor and exhibit operations for the SGIA Expo/PRINTING United with over 600 exhibitors and special interest areas, occupying over 300,000 net square feet of space and growing in the coming years. This position will serve as the primary exhibit contact for the annual Exposition and requires the ability to organize projects simultaneously and keep on schedule and budget. This multi-faceted position includes tasks related to floor management, booth sales management, security, waste ink removal policies and member/exhibit services. This individual will manage exhibit revenue collection, onsite sales activities, ensure a successful experience for exhibitors and vendors and help to provide ongoing supervision of exhibit staff and floor managers.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:
Provides direction for the exhibit services components of the annual Expo and helps to ensure successful execution of each Expo. Manages the creation of applicable exhibit materials to include exhibit contracts and show rules and regulations.
Responsible for the integrity of the Floor Plan Management System and data contained therein. Able to successfully create and manage the annual event on platforms that range from the desktop to internet and mobile devices and remain in accordance with convention center, general service contractor and fire marshal guidelines and rules.
Manages booth reservations, relocations, cancellations and wait list procedures in coordination with the Exposition Coordinator.
Manages the General Service Contractor to ensure all expected exhibit and trade show floor activities are performed in a timely and professional manner.
Works directly with, and responsible for oversight of, applicable exposition vendors to ensure that all services are delivered in a timely and professional manner.
Creates and manages the logistics calendar and project timeline related to Exhibitor Services.
Coordinates with Sales and Marketing in relation to solicitations and efforts to build new exhibit programs, services, affinity programs, etc. Also works with the Marketing and Media teams to ensure they have all pertinent information necessary for promotional and press release materials, including the exhibitor/conference website, the Show app, the Expo Show Map and all text and content for exhibitor communications.
Consults with the Vice President, Expositions in the management of budgetary accounts (revenues and expenses) in relation to exhibit booth related finances.
Responsible for execution and management of the Priority Booth Sales event and on-site Exposition Booth Sales Office.
Exhibition management experience is a must. CEM certification is a plus.
Proficiency with floor plan layout computer programs, specifically Expocad, with the ability to successfully create, and manage the floor plan is essential.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, project management skills required.
Ability to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Requires ability to organize projects simultaneously and keep on schedule and budget.
Must be able to travel multiple times a year (15%) including overnight travel of up to 12 days.
Required to demonstrate outstanding customer service orientation and have the ability to interact effectively and appropriately with individuals of various levels, professions and cultures.
Convey a professional attitude and demeanor in all projects and outside events as the position is a representative of the Association.
Must be able to function independently with minimal supervision for select projects and as part of a collaborative team for other tasks.

Strong proofreading and editing skills for developing exhibitor communications and logistical copy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality administration or a related field.
5 years of experience in exhibit management. 8 years of experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint required. Experience working in Microsoft 365 a plus.
Experience with floorplan management software is essential. Experience with ExpoCad is a plus.
Experience with vendor contracts and relations
Experience in forecasting and budgeting a plus
