The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the development, writing and editing of C200 communicators (primarily digital), including bi-weekly member e-news blasts, member event announcements, website updates, blast mass communications emails. This position is also responsible for maintaining the C200 social media presence.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop, write, proofread and edit copy for all outgoing promotional/member communications, i.e. “newsletters”, automated email promotional and event campaigns, and other special notices and materials, e.g. election ballots.
Work proactively with staff to develop and manage annual member communications calendar and update monthly based on changing needs.
Formats photos and other graphic content.
Develops and maintains content for C200’s modest social media presence primarily on Twitter, LinkedIn.
Tracks and reports metrics.
Works to ensure brand consistency and quality controls across all platforms, communications templates, etc. and in all materials.
Assists in the communications project production e.g. print directory, as well as other materials.
Writes, manages and updates website content and interfaces with support vendor to trouble-shoot, e.g. user credentials.
Works with other staff to support their communications needs.
Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Communication, journalism, marketing or related field is required
Minimum of three to five years of experience; non-profit or association experience is preferred
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Excellent comprehension skills, in order to translate ideas into succinct and clear messages and/or tactics
Experience with managing website content.
Experience using social media platforms for business purposes.
Strong attention to detail.
Organized; ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational, execution and administrative skills.
Ability to problem-solve and take a pro-active, self-directed approach to projects.
Exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization. Must be \able to work with a small staff as part of a team and with a sophisticated and C-suite level membership.
Excellent oral communication skills
Collaborative, solution-oriented team leader and colleague.
Technologically savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Mail Chimp, social media engagement platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn) and experience working with membership and/or CRM database systems, HTML, WordPress.
Knowledge of Adobe Suite software; Buffer or HootSuite.
